Marina R is a filmmaker and art photographer. She holds a Master’s degree in Film Production and has produced and directed several short films. She has also been the Director of Photography for a number of short films using 16mm film cameras as well as DSLR cameras.
 
Inspired by the work of most French New Wave filmmakers and experimental artists such as Maya Deren, Luis Buñuel, Zbigniew Rybczyński and David Lynch, Marina has always been fascinated by the moving image, its aesthetic and meaning within the story. For her, it has always been important to convey a feeling, an emotion, or create an atmosphere, which would make a long-lasting impression and possibly trigger some afterthoughts. One of the main statements in her work is “less is more”, a proverb she firmly believes that applies to any type of art production.

Marina’s avid interest in storytelling through images has gradually prompted her to venture off to still photography and mixed media art. Her fine art photography work has been displayed in various art galleries as well as commercial venues and private homes both in the UK and internationally.
